Heute hatte das Alfred-Müller-Armack-Berufskolleg die Ehre, Frau Linnette Franco, eine amerikanische Diplomatin willkommen zu heißen. In einer spannenden und informativen Veranstaltung gewährte sie uns Einblicke in ihren Alltag als Diplomatin und berichtete von ihren persönlichen Erlebnissen in verschiedenen Ländern wie Kambodscha oder Guatemala.
Frau Franco erklärte eindrucksvoll, welche Rolle Diplomatie bei der Förderung internationaler Zusammenarbeit spielt. Sie teilte Geschichten aus ihrem Berufsalltag und machte deutlich, wie wichtig es ist, Kulturen zu verstehen, flexibel zu agieren und stets eine Lösung im Blick zu haben.
Besonders bereichernd war die Möglichkeit, ihr Fragen zu stellen. Wir Schülerinnen und Schüler interessierten uns unter anderem für die persönlichen du beruflichen Herausforderungen, denen sich Frau Franco in Tätigkeit als Diplomatin stellen muss, und für die besonderen Erfahrungen, die sie auf ihren Reisen gesammelt hat.
Der Besuch von Frau Franco war eine außergewöhnliche Gelegenheit, den Beruf der Diplomatin aus erster Hand kennenzulernen. Mit ihrer offenen und authentischen Art hat sie uns gezeigt, wie spannend und vielseitig die Arbeit in der internationalen Diplomatie ist.
Ein Tag, der noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird!

US diplomat Linnette Franco at the Alfred Müller Armack Vocational College: An inspiring insight into the world of diplomacy
Today, the Alfred Müller Armack Vocational College welcomed Ms. Linnette Franco, an American diplomat. In an exciting and informative event, she gave us an insight into her everyday life as a diplomat and reported on her personal experiences in various countries such as Cambodia and Guatemala.
Ms. Franco impressively explained the role diplomacy plays in promoting international cooperation. She shared stories from her day-to-day work and made it clear how important it is to understand cultures, act flexibly and always have a solution in mind.
We also had the chance to ask Ms Franco questions. Among other things, we students were particularly interested in the personal and professional challenges that Ms. Franco faces as a diplomat and the special experiences she has gained on her travels.
Ms Franco’s visit was an extraordinary opportunity to get to know the profession of a diplomat at first hand. With her open and authentic manner, she showed us how exciting and varied the work in international diplomacy is.
A day that we will remember!
